Desert Express

The Desert Express,  pure desert for those who love the isolation and unspoilt beauty of the Sahara.

Starting in the coastal town of Essaouira  we follow the Atlantic coast before starting a route that is 1500km of the best desert pistes and 90% off road. We drive the legendary White Beach before turning inland along the Draa Valley and old Dakar pistes skirting the border. The Route takes in the dunes of Erg Chegagga and Erg Chebbi, crossing the dry lakes of Lac Iriki and Lac Maider as we head east

Lots of desert, lots of wildcamping  but with some of the very best campsites in Morocco for a bit of luxury. Along the way we stop in Zagora to get he vehicles checked by some of the top mechanics in Africa.

This route really gives a sense of desert expeditions without the long distances involved with the Western Sahara tour.
