MAURITANIA EXPEDITIONS

 For the first time our tours will leave Morocco and venture into new territories as we now offer  Mauritania Expeditions.  Over 15 days our route will take in the  following highlights  

• Iron Ore Train Piste  
• Ben Amira - the worlds second largest  rock monolith  
• Desert Towns of Atar,  Chinguetti, Tidjika 
• Search for the Desert Crocodiles.  
• Nouakchott and Nouhadibou, Mauritania’s  main cities.  
• Banc D’Arguin National Park 

Mauritania will give you an Overland  experience like no other destination as we  explore this vast Saharan country. The route  covers long distances off road through  unspoilt desert and mountain landscapes This will require a level of flexibility and team work  from everyone who takes part but we feel that’s what will make this trip unique.  

The Mauritania Expeditions will only run during March and November to avoid the extreme  temperatures of the desert. A scheduled tour will take place every 2 years but ad hoc tours are  available for group bookings and if there is sufficient interest.  To run a Mauritania Expedition we need a minimum of 2 vehicles but groups will be no larger  than 6 vehicles. 

These trips will be run as an Expedition rather than a Tour. This means there will be a need to  be more self sufficient during the trip as we do not have the same level of support available in  Mauritania compared to Morocco. Mechanic Services are limited and both you and your vehicle  will need to be prepared to the highest level for these trip. Every aspect of these expeditions is  harder than travelling in Morocco, we cover much longer distances off road with fuel range of  over 1000km required. There are limited resupply points and we will be wildcamping for most  of the trip
